Managing Editor
As the Managing Editor in 2007, I facilitated the editorial process with the team and liaised with the head of the Editorial Department. I wrote cover lines, contents page, and the masthead. I ensured editing process maintained integrity, developed and adhered to magazine style, and facilitated the team to met deadlines. I also coordinated visual needs with the Art Department and Art Director.
Contributing Writer
As a writer, I had two articles published in Pacific Rim Magazine:
- “Elements of Tranquility: The Art of Japanese Zen Gardening” by Monica Miller | Pacific Rim Magazine | 2007
- “Organ Transplants in China: What is the Truth?” by Monica Miller | Pacific Rim Magazine | 2007
Launch & Website
Once the print magazine published, I was part of the planning team for the launch event. We coordinated decor, displays relating to the issue’s stories, food and drink, and invited a wide range of guests such as interview subjects and college personnel. As Managing Editor, I had the privilege of giving a short speech during the launch event.
Later, the Editorial and Art Departments collaborated to produce a new website to highlight the latest issue of Pacific Rim Magazine.
